£1500 - interesting useable classic
Discussion
What would be an interesting old car to do a 20 min commute in? Not looking to buy right now, but just musing. Once I've got the bike back (as backup in case I need to work on the car) I might be able to afford to get rid of the Clio for something a bit more interesting.
Something fairly reliable / very simple
So usual suspects I guess:
Mini
MGB
Beetle
Or more like it:
Mk1 Fiesta
Fiat 126
Hillman minx
Cortina mk4

Offer 750, buy at 850. Plenty of cash in the pot for sorting out any niggles.

I do like that P6. Pug and the 924/944 obvious contenders as well.
Was thinking Vauxhall Viva as well.
Edit: Found this-

Just gave myself a bit of a man-boner there.
What do those 2l P6's do to the gallon? Leathery woody waftyness...

I'd say that single carb and autobox makes it pretty undesirable. But I do like the Saab. Try this:
