Hi all

The battery on Mrs E's TDi A3 (1.9) appears to have decided it no longer wishes to exist. It's starting the car but struggling to do so if it sits still for 2 days or so. With her currently being 'with child' I dont fancy taking the flak if it doesn't start coming back from work, so i'm going to replace it.

The current unit is a Varta one, and on the top it states '570A'. Is this the Cold Cranking Amps? If so, euro car parts have a Bosch one, which lists the CCA as follows:-

Cold Cracking Amp (CCA): 420/720

So, is this higher or lower than my current battery? Also, ECP suggests 2 options in terms of size, an 096 and a 110. Anyone know which fits a TDi 100 A3 of 2002 vintage? Save me getting cold going out to the garage to look? Or will both fit?

Cheers in advance for help

dunno - but check the terminals are the correct way round. Halfrauds 'recommended' battery for my 200sx has the terminals the wrong way round, luckily Varta do one both ways.

Sorry, that's the CCA listed for the 096 battery on the ECP website.

Is the 420A one 96Ah, and the 720A one 110Ah?

Don't quite follow.

I'd go with a Bosch s4 096, and don't forget to use BATTERY15 code for 15% off.
