Not 100% I need a car in the city I live in (Montreal), so I thought maybe taking over a car lease for 3-6 months would be a good test.

There seems to be a lot of transfer sites as it appears to be a massively popular thing here, but I was wondering if anyone with experience has an idea of some of the risks involved and whether it's a good thing to do?

Sites I've seen are:

www.leasetakeovers.ca
www.leasebusters.com
www.leaseexperts.ca

Thanks!

If you take one over I presume the payments are the same as when the car was new. if thats the case I don't see whats in it for the 2nd-3rd owner.

If you end up handing back the vehicle you are responsible for any penalties due to extra milage or poor condition.

If it is a car you were intending to buy (at 3 yo.)
Then at the end of the lease you have the option to buy it at the residual.
Depending on the car that could save you 3 - 5K
