Talk to me about Mazda 2's
Discussion
Sorry its a boring run around thread but...
The other half has her heart set on a Mazda 2 to replace her Y plate Fiesta, which is getting a bit long in the tooth. Budget is £5k a sniff over doesn't matter.
We have been in one, and whilst not as good as a Yaris (IMHO - which of course doesn't matter!), it seems very well nailed together, and relatively grown up for a little car.
Any ownership experiences on the great interweb of knowldege? Advise on common faults, things to look for etc?
Much appreciated.

I didn't drive the cars, only rode along benignly. The Yaris was much more civilised from a passenger point of view, seemed better made and rode better - all IMHO of course.
But just to drag it back on topic, this isn't about Yaris vs 2, the 2 has already triumphed in that battle by verdict of the one spending the money.

My missus has one. 1.3 petrol. I think it's great. The engine is super refined (compared to my old cars anyway lol) and pretty frugal. She's done 30k in it so far with no problems at all. We tested a Yaris and a Jazz before settling on the Mazda and I think it drives better than the other 2.
Have driven a few when my 3 is at the dealers.
They are quite revvy and fun to drive. I just about fit into the 2 and find it to be like a little go-kart compared to my car, in a good way.
Never driven a Yaris so can't comment, but i'm never sorry to get a 2 as a courtesy car. I like the gear stick setup too.
