Hi guy, far too many what car threads on here but I'm really struggling to think of some out of the box ideas,

Criteria is quite open suffice to say

budget £3k
insurance group 15 or less (I know this isnt a great gatepost but it's generally ok)
Already had a transverse 4 so fancy a 6cylinder or forced induction...

anything else is fair game really! It's going to be my second car (no not as in weekend car) and I'll still be 18 so imprezas and stuff are out unfortunately frown The current leader is a BMW 323Ci but I can't really think of much other things which are a bit different

Thanks in advance smile

Mazda RX8?

Doesn't meet your engine requirements but it's a unique engine in a good car.

How about saving money right now and buying a fun car when the insurance will be at least reasonable?

IMO it's reasonable on the 323, considering it's only going to be a couple hundred more than my Fiesta.

Why will you need two cars? What are their duties?

It's in the OP, this will not be a second car as in weekend car, I will be selling the Fiesta and this will be my only car.

Any more ideas for this? Isn't it a tad ironic when someone is looking for left-field ideas 300bhp/ton is nowhere to be seen? hehe

Ive got an e36 323i coupe. It certainly feels alot faster than 170bhp in a 1300+kg car has a right too. Its good, your probably miss the chuckable nature of the fiesta but your enjoy turning off the tc button.

I bought mine in good nick for 600 pounds with 106k on clock and lots of mot.

How about drop a cylinder and get the beautiful 5 pot warble from a fiat coupe 20v turbo? pick up a half decent one for around 2k mark (avoid 1k ones)and have the rest of the cash left for tidying and maintenance?

Are they 5cylinders? I always thought they were 20v in the same way the VAG 1.8 20v T is paperbag

But yes, tried a quote on one of them and bugger me, no chance frown

Any suggestions welcome smile
