New/recent Italian 'luxury' car tax

Does anyone have a link to the details of this (in Italian is fine). I have only heard that there is something new either in force or about to be introduced that is going to have quite a big impact on the cost of legitimatley (!) running a performance car out there.

Havent they always penalised vehicles with >2,000cc engines ; hence the 2l BiTurbo Maserati and the similar Ferraris?

Those Ferrari 208 GTB's were out an awfully long time ago! I think it got quite a bit more favourable out there since then, at least until recently...

I have seen a few posts talking about something new/in the pipeline that will represent a big change and is bad news for any fellow PistoneTesta as when annual 'ownership' costs shoot up, values tend to drop and their exotica will end up being exported...

Anyone know the details?

Basically it is saying that the floor of the Italian supercar market has truly collapsed. 612 offered at 60k EUR, 550s at 30k, and 599 at 100k.

If true there's not going to be many supercars in Italy tias time next year.

The above linked thread is all that I have seen on the matter to date and it's either poor journalism or something cruical is lost in my online transation. Probably both.

It mentions a milestone occurs at at 20 years when a car becomes 'historic' and may become exempt from these taxes. It also mentions that EUR60k of taxes may be payable on a 599, but is that over 20 years, that is 'only' EUR3k a year so that by itslef should not be reason to see used prices of late models cut in half.

If there is a real tax out there, there must be some official website (DVLA, HMRC equivalent) explaining it.
