Must say, I'm impressed. I'd lost my insurance certificate (stupid me, I know), phoned them up, expecting to have to pay an expensive admin fee (their T&Cs seem to suggest £17.50) spoke to the guy on the telephone and he emailed me a replacement certificate free of charge! Thought I'd post a positive story, being as there are so many negative posts around these days.

I rang them up to see if they'd insure my elephant's 7 Series. They wouldn't.

It's a sad indictment on the insurance industry that you can pay hundreds if not thousands of pounds a year for a service you may not even use and yet it's still a bonus to be sent an email for free...

I think the insurance industry have successfully brainwashed the nation into thinking that level of service is acceptable!

You won't be so happy when you have to claim. Especially when there is a conflict of interests and they insure both cars involved.

There is a reason why Admiral, Elephant and Bell are the cheapest around.

I'm with Admiral, which is Elephant's sister company. I was hit by another Admiral driver, and they were fine. Got my car fixed at a main BMW dealer, no trouble at all.

Fully understand everyone has different experiences with claims. I had a bad one, they offered me £1500 for whiplash when i hadn't even mentioned any injury or pain and then drew out the whole process over 3 months for repairing my car.

TBF I wouldn't have been able to afford my car with anyone else at that age as they are very cheap.

Yes they are the cheapest, but by far NOT the best...

And as long as you don't claim, took me 2 months to get money for a write off. Then I enquired regarding excess as not my fault and received a letter that 2 years NCB taken off as no details provided(the letter was sent more than a year later). Even though the RTA was registered and attended by the police and ambulance, and details were passed to the insurance the next day.

Annoying is the least...

So we should all pay more in the hope of a good quality of service if we have a bump?
