Is it possible to change the door handles on a 159 Lusso from the painted to the chrome ones like on the ti?

I'm test driving a 2.2 JTS Lusso tomorrow, and if I like it, I'll get it. The exterior of the one I'm viewing needs improving imo, so my plan is to respray it/wrap it in red, change the alloys to 17" Wolfrace Assassins, swap the wing mirrors and handles for chrome ones, and have the windows tinted.

Hopefully it should go from this:

To this: xD

also, if anyone knows any common problems/things to look for, please let me know smile

Chrome handles seem to be standard... good. Can anyone help with common problems etc?

I would LOVE the ti alloys, but they're 19", so tyres would be over £200 a corner, unlike nearer £100 for the 17"s. I don't really like the wheels on the car atm, so with the money I save on the tyres I can contribute a lot to replacing the alloys. If I changed the alloys to the ti's the tyres alone would be £800 before I'd even got the alloys themselves.

plus, I like the assassins, I think they make it look a bit more sporty/aggressive

Just buy a red one?
All this respray, alloys, tints business sounds a little too bling.

Agreed. A good respray in a different colour should be several thousand.

Those wheels are horrific.

Get some that look like the TI ones but in the size you need.

Or at the very least don't get them :P

Maybe OZ Supertourings or BBS challenge (or something cheaper along those lines) though I have no idea how much they are, probably lots.

Either way I'd be hugely jealous of owning a 159.

Why not just get a red 159 and then change the wing mirror covers and handles?

PS: No reason you shouldn't be able to detach the door handles and fit replacements more to your style

PS Number 2 : Do not fit those alloys frown

BBS are pricey - over 1k for 4, a set of 4 of the ones I like (the horrific ones :P) come to £508.20 direct from Wolfrace. And as for buying a red one, I haven't found a red one with that engine, there are red diesel ti's for around the same price, but I want the petrol. I could bring in the car, respray, mirrors, tints and alloys for under £8k

On the 159, check for play/hissing from the power steering when on full lock. Racks are becoming more common. The 2.2 doesn't use oil but as with any Alfa make sure it has had lots of lovely oil services.

No cambelt issues on these but some chains have been known to stretch, just look for any warning lights on the dash. (Very rare but good to check)

Otherwise very solid little cars!

I found these ones, maybe these would be better if they fit the car http://www.wolfrace.co.uk/gb_details.php?wheelID=6...

Not bad actually :P

To be fair, you go with whatever you want, you'll have a 159, I wont.

Spotted these on the site

http://www.wolfrace.co.uk/gb_details.php?wheelID=2...

They look fairly similar to TI wheels?

I don't understand

If i wanted a red Alfa 159, then I would buy a red Alfa 159

not buy one and get it wrapped

and those wheels are awful, they would turn a Italian Stallion into a Roma Gypsy

Have you looked at a wrapped car up close? It's cheaper than spraying for a reason.
