Probably not such a big problem these days as most keys cost about £1000 pounds to get a replacement from dealer only. I've always been told to get keys cut at professional locksmiths, as the ones done at Simpsons etc are inferior quality and will destroy your locks/ignition barrel over time.
Anybody had any experiences with replacement keys, good or bad?

ETA...the locksmiths is usually cheaper as well smile

I've used locksmith keys in the past with no trouble.

Bear in mind that most of the cost now is to do with programming chips for the security in the key. I don't think locksmiths do this on modern keys.
