Why don't Cats smell of eggs?

When I was a youngster in the early to mid 90's my dad brought an Audi 80. This was his first ever car that was fitted with a catalytic converter. Every time he reversed into our garage at home it stank of rotten eggs.

I'm pretty sure It was a known thing back then that Cats could sometime stink of eggs.

I have had plenty of cars since then and none of them have smelt of packed lunches when reversing.

Please could somebody else confirm that this was true, as I think my boredom is driving me to insanity!

Was the case but low sulphur fuel has stopped it.

They still do sometimes, you can usually smell it if the person in front of you punts it.

Cats don't smell of eggs because, if they did, some tt would try to make omelettes out of them and burning fur is a fire hazard...
