Best new car deals around
Discussion
its only a good deal if you want the car in the first place.
All 'deals' like this that are put together by the manufacturer are done so to support their car in the marketplace.
Generally speaking, the crappier the car relative to its direct competitors, the better the incentives have to be.

You can hardly say that the car is carp, it weighs 1025kg which for it's size is very good, in fact the new fiesta is based on it. Anyway point of this post was "the best new car deals" even if not EVOAll 'deals' like this that are put together by the manufacturer are done so to support their car in the marketplace.

I paid 9K for my Mazda 2 ts 1.4 diesel 5 door black paint brand new in 2009. The current offer is no bargain compared to that. They don't do the 1.4 diesel anymore and the 1.6 diesel is only available in Sport guise for a big premium. I don't think I will be rushing down to the stealers anytime soon.

Mazda 1.5 sport zero vat and 0% finance over 48 months. and thats before any dealer negotiation.
I suspect that offer is supported by both the manufacturer and the dealer and there's probably not much more than a £3-400 handling fee for the dealer, out of which they still have to pay for the PDI, plates, spot of fuel, valeting and the salesman's commission on the deal. Mazda 1.5 sport zero vat and 0% finance over 48 months. and thats before any dealer negotiation.
As with most such marketed offers, they're there to raise product and/or brand awareness in the marketplace, more than sell thousands of that model and variant, so it's a loss-leading marketing campaign if you will, the money gets made by people buying higher spec variants or other models from the range, having been given a perception of value of all the brand's products and so on - as well as from dealer fitted accessories, paint & interior protection, GAP insurance etc.
The deals will also add to the dealer's manufacturer funding volume, against which they'll recieve later bonuses IF they hit a (high) unit and volume target set by the manufacturer. Quite often dealer new car daily stocking charges (paid to the manufacturer who owns the vehicle until it is registered usually) are proportional to total finance volumes etc.
So in short - don't expect much wriggle-room, if any.
How have you found it to drive, the misses currently drives a 07 suzuki swift and for the 2nd time the ecu is playing up, dealer wants it in for the day(another £200 no doubt) and the hassle of having to make an appointment. went to look at a kia today and very tempted with the 7 yr warranty. Guy i work with has just spent £900 on a new ecu on an 07 vauxhall corsa so kia looks mighty tempting

Oh well..
Remember and add the predicted depreciation cost over your planned ownership time when comparing new car costs.
There always “thousands” off list of some cars, then surprise surprise, these same thousands come off at the other end too when you want to trade it it! Especially if that model is about to be replaced.

Indeed heavy discounting when new generally equals heavy depreciationThere always “thousands” off list of some cars, then surprise surprise, these same thousands come off at the other end too when you want to trade it it! Especially if that model is about to be replaced.
Unfortunately you cant have your cake and eat it
