How do cock ups like this happen? Does no one bother to check these things before printing them in their thousands?

Don`t you just love how some advertising agancies do there research so well!.
Don`t get the point behind these things, car spins on ice put bit of plastic down, get grip, move forward 2 feet then stop to pick them up, try to get going, wheels spin, repeat process from stage one. Would take a bloody hour to get of the drive!

I keep a set of similar ones in my emergency bag, I've got them attached to a good length of rope terminating in a shackle which I can attach to the towing eye, get rolling and they just slide along a short distance behind the car till you can get to somewhere with better traction to stop and retrieve them, it works a treat.

I remember rading somewhere that the vast majority of BMW drivers don't know they're RWD. I don't remember exactly what the percentage was, but it was pretty high.

(Turns out it was 80% of 1-series owners thought it was FWD)

It's not just BMW drivers!

I find that people in general do not know if their car is FWD or RW, or that the two things have different handling properties..

That can't be from a BMW official brochure, because then they'd be £300 not £30.
