I’m looking for your input and thoughts on this subject, as it relates to academic research I am currently working on. Its an investigation into the level of priority being placed upon highway schemes by local and central government – in particular, bypass proposals.

I would really like to hear from not only a road users perspective, but from residents and business owners too. I’d like to know about areas that need a bypass, or have had one built that is now operational – what has changed as a result? In your opinion is it better or worse?

I am aware that this isn’t an academic forum, but I don’t want textbook opinions – I need opinions based on real life experiences. I will be submitting the posts as part of my research appendix.

Thanks in advance for your time

I suggest you try driving from London to Leeds without using the motorways. That should answer the question nicely.

Are there any bypass schemes that you think don't work?
