6 weeks ago my partner and I had a new arrival, a very small (3lb 15oz!) baby boy. After a couple of weeks in hospital we took him home in her Mini as the roads were pretty slippy and my 5 series is hopeless in the winter.

It got me thinking about my first car journey, after asking my parents I found out I made my first trip in this! A harvest gold Marina no less smile

What did you come home from the hospital in?

A gold Ford Fiesta. 1979.

First born daughter was taken home in a Fiat Bravo, second in a BMW 320d.

Technically, the first car I was in was a van. A mini van, to be precise.

I believe my parents had an Avenger at the time. Not absolutely certain though, my memory of those first few years is somewhat hazy.

A 1972 orange mini, in a carry cot loose on the back seat!

My daughter had the privelige of our Alfa Romeo 156 sportwagon, but does now prefer the clubman s as per the OP.

A light blue Rolls Royce.
A bit like this.

It later had the rear seat base removed and a baby seat bolded in.

Rock and roll! cool

I was driven home from the hospital in my Dad's new car at the time - an MG Metro Turbo. I think this may have something to do with my love for cars.laugh

Funnily enough I was just thinking about this today as our first baby in due in April. My first trip was in my dad's 1971 Vauxhall Viva, his first brand new car. One like this I think

The new baby Y will have a slightly more glamorous chariot - Our Volvo V60

Of course this assumes we do not win the lottery before then. In which case baby will be coming home in a car seat in the back of a 911. The wife agrees wholeheartedly with this plan.

When I was born my grandparents visited me at hospital in the car that I drive today. Which is cool.

I was probably taken home in some hateful astra however
