Which car?

Hi guys i posted a thread in jap chat looking for a new car. I had already come up with a few ( Mk2 Mr2, Civic Vti and prelude) but someone suggested the Celica VVTi 190. I quite like the look of them but im not sure if id be better with one of the other cars or if there was anything else i should look for. Criteria is quickish non turbo reliable and obtainable for £2000. Is there anything else i should look at? And does anyone know if the celica and prelude (my personal favourites) are reliable and reasonable on fuel?
