MLMs driving me mad!
Discussion
Is it just me or are the MLMs on the motorways getting worse?
Coming home from work this evening I find myself stuck behind an MX5 in L2 doing 60mph. L1 is clear. I approach him expecting him to speed up/ move over but nothing happens. Flash my lights, still nothing. Get bored so flash again and overtake. The driver then starts waving his arms around and shouting abuse from the car!?
Can basically repeat the above daily.
Can't get my head around the mindset of these people. Completely selfish and t
t-ish behaviour. Why.....

Ditto, except this time it was some yoof in a Saxo, and he decided to accelerate as I overtook him, which was ultimately a futile gesture. On top of that there was an X5 that didn't appear to have functioning indicators, and seemed to use the white lines on the road merely as arough guide as to where to go.

Undertake him and give him a wave next time
Seems that kind of thing is the only way forward. The 4-lane sections are worse, there have been quite a few times on the M25 when I've been able to just sit in L1 with the cruise set to about 65mph and be moving quicker than all the traffic in the other lanes.
There do seem to be more determined idiots who will just not pull over.
It is the fury that someone wants to go faster that I do not understand.
I tend to undertake, carefully observing the traffic and any police about.
On the M5 I do occasionally undertake in the inside lane when the slow car is in the outside lane. Centre lane remains unused.
Their logic is beyond me.

You're obviously not powerfully enough built to suitably intimidate him.
The other person was driving an MX5, even Peewee Herman would be able to intimidate an MX5 driver, the only logical presumption is that it was being driven by a mechanic on a test drive after fixing it or it'd been stolen.Regiment said:

In a lot of the cases it must be lack of understanding of how to drive on motorways, and otherwise is just sheer bone-idleness.
I quite often just undertake them, I've had enough of veering over 2 lanes just to get past people on a clear road!
The result of this can be nothing, or something clicks and they pull over or they get "excited" and start waving their arms about.
Quite often these are the same people that think you need foglights on when it's frosty!
