I went and had a peek at it tonight and it went well but it was a little rough around the edges. Checked insurance and its reasonable but not totally sold on this one. Much prefer these cars in white.

Thought I would throw this up here for the more knowledgable amongst us to pick apart as I really value the wealth of experience on here.

Ask the seller for the v5 or last mot cert number so you can check out what was advised last time, always a good clue as to what to expect.

Plenty of skyline buyers guides out there or get an inspection done.

You're already sounding fed up with it, and don't even own it. Do not buy smile

They say never meet your heroes. Totally smitten with rwd though. What a hoot!

The words "eBay" and "Skyline" don't make good bedfellows IMO. And that's before you started on how tatty it was. There are plenty more.

Its sitting at £920 at the moment...

Depending on the tattiness I'd personally* probably give it a punt upto ~£1500. Parts are relatively cheap and plentiful.

  • * Actually I personally wouldn't. Getting a GTS-T to my mind is like owning a Sierra Ghia and saying it is close enough to a Sierra RS Cosworth. It has to have a GTR badge for me.

The RWD action in the wet really did it for me but I remember my friends stage2 1996 r33 gtst which I think was a manual being much more brisk. Could be rose tinted glasses I know but I do remember getting in it thinking 'I have an R1 this is going to be toss' and being rudely surprised.

It just wasn't the animal I really expected and the mud for coolant and other bits and pieces kind of put me off.

In short yes. I had my Tiptronic R34 converted to a manual and got a much better car and an extra 60bhp at the wheels into the bargain.
