I've already made a post regarding the travel element of this trip which can be viewed below.

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

This post relates to aquiring a vehicle (un)suitable for the task of driving form Calais to Naples and back. The budget is £250 and we would prefer the car to have some tax and test, however if it means getting our hands on something particularly interesting then we'd be willing to put the work in to get it through an mot. The route will involve the stelvio pass and the nurburgring so a car with at least minor sporting credentials would make things a bit more enjoyable!

Does anyone have anything lying in the garden that they would like to shift for a few coins? Or if theres anything on the classfields that we've missed then please do direct us!

A bit of spit and polish should see you okay.

With scrap prices so high, its really going to be 'get anything' within budget. We did Barcelona bangers, 4 up, I'm a 1.2 corsa with a knackered injector

All we need is a full set of running gear, doors, glass, interior and what not. Maybe opportunity for a cosworth conversion?

There are countless old french hatchbacks, british miss-haps (maestro, 25 etc) for the money, and although unreliablity would provoke some spontinuity in the trip when they inevitably decide they're not a fan of italian road manner, we do want to complete the route so preferabley something swedish/german.

The Puma might be a good shout actually! Will converse with the other musketeers.

A volvo 340 would be perfect for some stelvio drift practice....
