Reliable driver on classic car insurance?
Discussion
What are your suggestions for a daily driver that can be insured on a 'classic car' insurance policy.
It has to be reliable, but im sure there are still a lot of interesting vehicles that fall under this banner.
So far ive shortlisted a 205gti, mk2 golf gti, and a 'classic' mini. Cool yes, but reliable...hmmm.
Would love to hear suggestions.

A rather lovely e28 528i with 83.5k miles, manual, sounds good for £2k if it's straight. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2866795.htm

The problem with these policies is not what car you can get them on, but on the mileage you will be doing.
I looked into it with the 968 as considering a shopping car and wanted to know what my options were like on using my single maximum NCB.
Turns out from the people I spoke to at the Silverstone Classic that if you do anything more than 5kpa most don't want to know you and those that do are just as expensive as getting a second a 'proper' policy on which you can earn a second NCB.
Happy to be told the above is a load of bull, but just what I was told/found out on a 2 hour fact finding mission last summer.

A lot of the insurance schemes that are supported by owners clubs are cheap and unlimited mileage. So dependent on your age, requirements etc you could consider MG, Triumph etc as reliable dailies...I looked into it with the 968 as considering a shopping car and wanted to know what my options were like on using my single maximum NCB.

Interesting.I think that I'll have another look at this then - Not joined PCGB as there is little other than the insurance discount which I get anyway through finacee's TVRCC that I can give to or get out of the club, especially with 968uk being so good
