I will be selling my sportrak in a month or two

How much would you say it's worth?

It's a 91 (j) reg 1.6 GLXi

Every panel has a dent or scratch, she needs a new battery, and she ticks over at 1400 rpm

But she's only got 70,000 on the clock, and she runs well

She will have 6 or 7 months m.o.t., but it's taxation class is disabled

I was thinking of asking £350, does that sound fair? Or am i better scraping it?

This is not an advert for it's sale so please don't email me

I just want to work out a fair price for when i sell it

here's some pics

Ebay 7 day auction, accurate description, market decides the price for you, job done.

With some MOT on it, I'm sure it'll sell easily enough for over scrap value (probably upto £200 max for scrap).

If it's got Mot and drives stick it up for £500.

Reduce as required to gain interest smile

Or fleabay it.

Get it taxed properly and the price will go up by more than the value of the tax. As it stands it can't be driven away legally by someone who isn't eligible, which limits the market a lot.

You really think it's worth the cost of re-taxing?

What dave's said is pretty much that a punter might want the car but can't drive it away there and then so will just walk away. You spend 100 quid on tax, you'll have a larger customer base and your 350 quid car will sell for 500.

As always with all these questions, the answer is:

Probably not as much as you might think.

£500 sounds optimistic

One of my neighbours asked two night's ago where her elderly mother could sell her beloved old Rover 827 Coupe and how much it might be worth, it's the same colour as this with MoT and tax with slightly worn leather seat on the driver's side.

I had no idea how much it could be worth, so I suggested she puts it on a couple of sites at around £900 and see what offers she may get. There were less than a handful for sale on various sites I looked at.

The last time it was parked in our street I was tempted to take a picture of it as they're such a rare sight.

Any ideas, was I right in saying £900, although that's probably pretty optimistic. smile
