I'm looking to replace my old but 100% reliable 80 series Landcruiser that is pretty much used exlusively for towing duties to something a bit newer, more economical & user friendly. Also something I can use as a daily too. Not much appears to be up to the job of towing a 2.6 ton trailer/race car with room in the back too. Well for the money of sub £4k.

The Hyundai Terracan has been on the radar for a while, with the 2.9 Crd engine it seems like a good potential. It has a 2800kg tow limit which is do'able for what I need. They appear to manage 30+ mpg too.

Anybody had one? any experiences of? They generally appear to be reliable from all accounts. Anyone suggest otherwise?

Cheers in advance

Stig

Dec - what about an Isuzu trooper? I towed a cradled 2 car trailer for 3 race seasons - totally bulletproof car - cheap too.

PS - need to pick your brains re. tyres - can you drop me a PM as there's no contact details in your profile?
