we registered the car to his company and hes in motor trade.
i have the log book which is syill in previous owners name.
today the new purchaser came to collect the car and have even put his naame on the log book and if i hadnt said anything he wouldnt have known.
we never registered car to either of us as we were not suo would end up with it and its above board. now the guy thinks something is a bit fishy and apart from talkin to my bro in devon how can i prove that i can sell the car to him

Just tell him the car has been in stock in the motor trade, who don't have to register cars to themselves, and if he doesn't like it tell him to do one.

I dont think this will end well for you(your log book problem aside). Have you ever read a PH thread before?

OP, you state that you have registered the car in the name of a motor trade company and that you purchased the car to sell on (quite how you managed to do that and yet do not have a full v5 is a bit of a mystery). . . have you declared to the buyer, that you are in the motor trade? . . . . .as this may be the cause of the confusion.

yes i know it sounds odd and a long story. myself and bro in law bought the car and were not sure who would eventually own it al
thought i would.because of that we registered it to his company so there wouldnt be an xtra owner on logbook. hes had a land deal go bad on him so wants his stake in the car back....simples i dont have the money at present to give him his share or i certainly wouldnt be selling her on.i drove her from mine to devon and back and very light use since,,,,,prob only 200 or so miles. the car itself is great and has a service like ive never seen before.
i do not work in the motor trade im simply selling the car, but agree from an outside perspective it may look odd to someone, if push comes to shove then i will simply register it in my name but that will add another owner to log book.

by the way short arse i didnt see the relevance of the link to my oil problem. perhaps im missin somethin???????
