Driving from Glasgow to Heathrow tomorrow - how long!?

Anyone got any ideas how long this is likely to take? Various route planners say 5-7 hours but wondered what a realisitic time would be.

I'm going to pick up a car near Glasgow airport so flying out in the morning and then driving back leaving there around 14.30

The cars a 420 BHP beast so keep that in mind

How many points do you plan on aquiring en route?

How many fuel stops will you need?

Probably one fuel stop and another to take a dump or pee LOL

500bhp has got me there in under 5 hours

Best leave 7 for the journey + check in time unless you fancy gambling with your seat!

Under 5 hours with one stop for fuel is achievable on a clear run. Enjoy and beware the bizzies

Cheers but you misread flying out in the morning and then driving back so no rush to get back to heathrow. I say heathrow as I live close to it

Yup was correcting myself there

I do the Glasgow - Maidenhead run on occasion, cheaper to fly though but not any quicker door to door!!

5 would be a quick run, 7 would be on the slow side. All depends on the weather & the traffic. Sunday is usually a pretty good day to drive - fewer trucks on the road. Use the M6 toll road anyway.

There's no need to use the toll at the time you'll be travelling that section.

Glasgow - Marloe in 4 hrs 25

London in 5 hours ish on a good day, 7 on a bad day

Worst? 10 hours in taffic jams
