Hi,

not sure where best to post this. I have a 200KVA diesel generator with a sump-gasket leak and need someone that can swap it out.

The set is in Uxbridge near Heathrow.

If you could do this or could recommend someone please let me know.

Cheers

It may be worth looking for local diesel engineers or contacting an engine reconditioner as some do on site repair work. Also probably best to post up the engine type as this could help if someone is near and able as this will assist in finding parts and so on smile

It's a Perkins engine, will have to find exact model.

I'm based in Leeds so don't know anyone local to it which is a bit of a hindrance.

I'll be on-site tomorrow so can get details then.

Cat engine dealer, specialist? Unless is is a pre merger engine...

Had a quote of £3K to fix it, did involve jacking up the engine to drop the sump, swapping the gasket and sump-pan.

Given the size of it and that it's London prices I didn't think it sounded too nuts but it would be nice to use someone who is recommended.

Dale or advanced diesel engineering.
Probably try Dales first.

They've done Perkins, CATs and Rolls Royces for me.

I can't see why that would be any more than £600-700, even with preparing for £200 for a gasket set and topping up a lot of oil.

not one this size, it's bigger than a van.
