VW Phaeton instead of Jag XJ?

I'm kinda sorta thinking of selling my (old style) Jag XJ. My default choice would be to replace it with the newest possible old model XJ - I can't stand the new XJ - but I'm intrigued by the big Phaeton, especially the 6.0 W12.

Am I insane or is this something worth pursuing?

(and, no I don't want a BMW, AMG, or Audi )
