460 Ford RAM Cobra.

Neck snapping torque. Lost my Tunnel Run virginity in Waynes brutal beast.

383 Chevy CanAm Ultima.

600 brake monster did 265 kmh on the Autobahn: track day gearing!
Others were - erm - more sensible.

Toss up between Cerbera and Tuscan... the Tuscan probably sneaks it for the madness of the soundtrack and the more outlandish exterior styling.

I was a passenger in a Ferrari F40 when I was a lot younger, that left a lasting impression cloud9

Otherwise a 911 Carrera 4S PDK Convertible - was rather nice:

Things Porsche will lend people when they want to sell you a new car....had something like 60 miles on the clock at the time too!

Got driven at 290kph on the autobahn in a 500+ hp Abt TT RS a couple of summers ago. Plus drove a Ferrari 355 at 140mph and a Porsche 996 amongst others at a supercharge driving experience I got for my birthday

Nothing 'mad' really, been in a tuned HS Chevette, Blueprint engine Mini (circa 185 bhp), a TVR, 350bhp Calibra, Elise etc etc all quick but not 'mental'

BUT, I might be adding Mr Frosts RV3 to that list this year, but then again even that isn't mad.....it's insane. hehe

This

March 717 1971 8.8 litre Can Am car. 850BHP, 820lbft, 850kg.

Drove it at the Goodwood FOS, indoors in a live action arena for a few days at a motorshow in Spain and 10 laps of Silverstone, bonkers doesn't come close to describing how this goes round a circuit. I race prepped it for five years, so was a great experience to drive it also.

1) 380bhp Saphire Cosworth

2) TVR Tuscan

3) 996TT

The 996 was actually driven the hardest but the other two were driven by totally unhinged nutters intent of putting us in a hedge.

The 911 made it all feel safe.

700bhp big single Nissan 300ZX. The power delivery was savage, and the sound of the turbo rousing was aurally sexual.

This does say 'maddest' - not 'fastest and / or most expensive' etc...

I'm pretty sure the maddest car I've been in is my own!

Mostly because it started off as a really bad 16v turbo conversion I bought and have been slowly rectifying all the faults on over years.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFsRz2VjWYQ

As I say, not the fastest or most expensive car I've ever been in, but certianly the maddest. The overheating, the noise (no soundproofing) rock-hard suspension, racing harnesses, a fair bit of power, toyo R888s, Quaife...

It's been to Ireland, France, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden - Donnington Park, Croft & Castle Coombe

Short nose D-type rep, 300 brake 4.2 on Webers: totally forgot racing brakes don't work when cold so had to steer.

By a country mile, an aero-screened Westfield (V8) Seight belonging to a PHer. Completely redefined my idea of "fast". Made a Cerbera feel pedestrian.

Probably a Malone Skunk belonging to someone I work with. Not the fastest car I've been in, but probably the most ridiculous.

Did you drive or passenger? If drive, do they lack a little involvement compared to earlier V8 Ferrari's with all of the electronics or is it 100% sublime?

I'd love a ride in one let alone a drive.

Porsche 996 Turbo for it's insane acceleration (compared to my Civic Type-R and Kawasaki ER-6), and race-prepped Lotus Elise for it's equally insane cornering speed.

Also a Ferrari F430 for it's noise but also despite it's speed the handling felt very predicable & malleable even from the passenger seat.
