A car advert on Autotrader say the plate is worth £1500!!!!

If I ask them to keep the plate do you think they will knock £1500 of the price of the car?

That's ok, offer to let them keep the 'plate & knock £1000 off the price, they're £500 in profit! wink

Every time I see one of these ads I'm so tempted to phone them and say something along these lines.

Same as when the advert says "aircon just needs a regas" and "MOT due but will pass no problem".

Or, "just needs a good clean"

Well do it then, add another £100 to the cars value.

You have to ask who told them it was worth that money. If it was a lying scumbag who was hoping to earn commision off them advertising the plate with his company then it is unlikely he is going to be conservative in his valuation.
