Hi

I'm starting a new job that has 'cash for car.' I'm struggling to think of something that's affordable but interesting.

I don't want to lease as the job may not work out, so am looking at buying outright but don't want to sink too much money into it, say £13k limit. What makes things duller is that only cars less than four years old are allowed :-(

I was trying to choose between different approaches.

1, Get something nearly new that holds its value
2, Get something a couple of years old that has depreciated like a stone and is cheap to buy but accept it will be worth nothing at four years.

The 'interesting' (loosely used) options are:

Honda CRZ, Citreon DS3.

Then there's loads of boring options:

Octavia, Astra, Focus etc.

I'd love a volvo again but sadly although they depreciate very fast it's not enough to get them from list prices.

Can anyone think of something interesting and unusual? Anything I could import cheaply that isn't usually available here etc?

25k miles per year. Diesel or a particularly economical (or cheap) petrol. Not overly worried by number of seats or size as the Mrs has a estate.
