Seems he is just as forthright as Monkey as he has apparently been told he won't be welcome to test any more McLarens after his MP12 review.
Tiff's review? Where was that - do you have a link?Didn't Evo fall foul of Ferrari a couple of years back with the Car of the Year result?

Not really
I want someone that can convey the excitement and fun that can be had going on an epic trip can be
I stopped getting EVO as it was slowly disappearing up their own arse as they had forgotten the fun. Like car of the year they took a bunch of first class cars and drove them across europe which would be an epic adventure for almost anyone and they kind of completely ignored the adventure and talked about dashboard plastics.

Some of the comments and opinions on threads about magazines/journalists frustrate me. Obviously I understand certain magazines are aimed at a different audience. Now Evo is, and imho, always should be, aimed at a petrolhead and therefore written for an educated reader. Its become very public knowledge that certain manufacturers give journalists, let's say, 'different' specification cars than those that customers will get from the production line. Had a conversation with Ansar Ali from Caterham about this, as well as the famous Chris Harris piece on Jalopnik about Ferrari. Top Gear (esp the tv show) has changed wildly from what It used to be. It has to appeal to such a mass of viewing figures these days it can't just meet the need of people like us anymore. That's why people like Chris Harris need to exist to give us opinions on damper settings and all the geeky stuff we love to read about! The whole issue with Evo and Porsche has been done over and over again so there's no point starting that again. On Tiff, he's a cracking driver. Be in no doubt. However he has started to go down the Clarkson style of over enthusiastic TV presenting. Which has probably been pushed by bosses at channel 5. However it will be interesting to see if he can portray his talent into words.... Like (and no arguments please! Haha) ... Harris can.
