I've started taking some pictures of unique REG plates in Nottinghamshire. Is it illegal to upload them on here cause a friend told me to be careful uploading pictures of peoples REG plates cause its draws attention to thief's or other personal stuff. But I seeing you guys uploading loads of pictures of funny and cool REG plates. Its just bugging me now he's said that and I want to upload them for you guys of what I've captured...
Should I or shouldn't I.....

To be honest you should never even display reg plates in public, someone can very easily copy them. And then you get their speeding fines and even CSA invoices.
I keep mine at home. Under the bed, for safe keeping.

No its not illegal, you took the photos in a public place so they are yours to do whatever the hell you want with them.

I have always thought it's funny when people put up a pic of their car and blank the plates out, then jump in the car and drive around the world in front of everyone.

I can sort of understand that. It's not impossible to find out the address of an owner, and if it's a desirable car, I wouldn't want everyone to know where I live.

Also, if people are going to put false plates on their car, they might look for a similar car for sale from a different area of the country.

That's why my mate said be careful cause your uploading their personal details not just a picture of a number plate.
