Has anyone heard of Lea Francis? Wondering how popular it was back in its production days and how well-known it is these days in the UK.

Lea Francis' hay day really was pre-war. I have seen a passing reference to it every so often in modern rags. But its brand is remarkably low profile. If indeed it still exists.

They produced some epically ugly cars - google Lea Francis ace of spades - just one picture will pretty much give you the reason they went tits up - apparently beautifully constructed though - prob another reason why they weren't profitable...

It looks they put some effort into the back end but forgot to design the front until the day before the release

Didn't someone plan to re-release a car under the LF brand back in the 90s?
