Is it wrong that I really like this?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3580948.htm

Can't help but feel that one is a smidge overpriced though. Shame we don't get more RWD car based pick ups though. Can you imagine how cheap/ fun a new one of these would be if someone where to make a similar vehicle today?

I like it too although I prefer the Cortina ones.

Yeah, a smidge over priced indeed!

No, but I reckon the Cortina version is cooler.

Hmmm, I don't really get it, it's neither super low miles, super original (seats and the front bumper has a chrome stripe where as the body mouldings have a red strip, so some thing has happened) or super modified.

Yeah, it sure is clean but I can't see who it would appeal to to the tune of almost 9k?

Funny things happen when a vehicle becomes 'cult' among certain enthusiast groups. Just look at what's gone on in the VW scene rolleyes

I'd hardly describe them as cult, a few people putting cossie lumps in them (and they were doing that back in the late nineties when I was into fast fords, so it's hardly something new) doesn't make a clean base vehicle worth 9k.

A clean Sapphire Cosworth would be priced at around that level.

M3/M5/Boxter S, or a base model Sierra pickup with keep fit windows and the bigest dash clock i've ever seen?

Madness.

How bizarre - I was thinking earlier how long its been since I've seen one on the road. When I were a lad, they were ten a penny...

What do you mean it's not cult vehicle!? It's an old, RWD Ford, which judging by old Escort prices, makes the car worth more than life itself.

Okay, I may have exaggerated a bit smile

Hahaha, based on the fact it's rear drive and an old Ford, it must be a classic by association.....

The Cortina is cooler, but if you want a cool RWD pickup, get hold of a Nissan 1400 Bakkie, still in RHD production until 2009.

I'd have one of these. A very fast one would be great.

I like P100's I own 3.

1 Std
1 RWD 2.8 200bhp
1 4x4 2.8 150bhp

I sure as hell wouldn't pay £9k for one.

I'd pay a bit more and buy a 5.7 Holden Ute.
