The most common car on British roads??

What do we reckon?

Of late I've been seeing bleeding audi's absolutely everywhere (esp A3's)

a few years ago the most common seemed to be bmw's. It seems the "alternative cool/unique choice" nowadays are ford/vauxhalls rather than ze germans.

Probably a Ford Focus, since it's been the best selling car in the UK since it came out in MK1 form, and for much of the MK2's life too. You just probably don't notice them anymore. Like electricity pylons.

Peugeots seem to be getting common these days. God knows why.

I had a look on the trader and at the moment there are:

45k fords for sale,
40k vauxhalls
27k VW's
25k BMW's
20k Peugeot's
19k merc's
16k audi's
15k toyota's (lower than I expected )

doesn't necessarily reflect how many are on the road I suppose but probably a good gauge

They don't break... hence the owners hang on to them
