Or, depending on where it is and what you call it, maybe "Living Room" / "Lounge" / "Front Room" cars.

Prompted by a recent article in Classic Cars magazine, and possessing the required cash, this crossed my mind as being so unutterably pretty that I would just place it in my sitting room to gawp at:

I'm thinking of cars that go beyond "good looking", and become 4-wheeled art regardless of racing pedigree / engine size / practicality / motoring importance. Where the overall design and detailing are things of unbridled joy for the petrolhead. For example, I love the lines of a 288GTO but it's not to me a pretty car; purposeful, yes, but not worthy of gawping at whilst on a plinth in your sitting room.

A 250TR, however, would IMO look just so as an ornament:

As would an Alfa 8C Competizione.

So, other nominations for a sitting room car?

Another one that springs to mind is one that isn't (in the overall scheme of all things 250GT) that valued. Yet I love its lines and beauty:

See I prefer ^ to a 250GT SWB, looks-wise, yet a SWB out-values a Lusso x3!

BTW, I love that pre-production Countach posted earlier. Very much "of its time".

DB6 Volante for me, roof down. If I ever got bored of looking at it then I could sit in it to eat dinner, watch TV etc..

It's the classic one, so I thought I'd get there in first. I saw one parked outside a pub in Mayfair once and just stood there and took in the shape... wonderful.

You cant put an F40 in a sitting room for the same reason you shouldn't put a bird in a cage!
