Car buying check list

Anyone got one? what I mean is a generic list of things to check before buying. things like:

Does the VIN on the car match the one in the V5?

Is the V5 in the sellers name at their address?

Does the HPI report check out?

Are there any suspicious marks close to the stamped in VIN number on the body

Is the VIN number visible through the window-screen genuine? (or a sticker - that one got me recently...)

Are there any colour match / finish difference on the panels?

Are all the panel gaps on the car consistent with similar cars?

Does the seam sealer under the bonnet and in the boot look original?


You get the idea...

If someone has one and can post it up, great, If not, add things in and I will compile a list and post it up if people think its a good Idea
