This came from a passer by, wrapped up like we were in Siberia. I suppose this is because it's fairly cold outside and everyone's panick buying food for the impending doom, meanwhile I'm doing this. I don't see the problem for these reasons.

It's dry.
It's 1 degrees C, i.e. not that cold.
I don't have work.
Car was dirty.
Car was dirty.
Car was dirty.

I actually don't mind it being dirty, I'm more worried about the salt.

I know there's a bit of a stigma on PH for washing cars but for me this was too dirty.

Much better biggrin

Anyone else done the unthinkable and chucked a bucket of soapy water over the car today?

No - it might be just above freezing now but it'll freeze later so chucking water over it isn't in my plan

Mmmm. If that's a public highway/footpath and the water freezes on that, expect ambulance chasers knocking on your door. In fact, even if it isn't and it doesn't clear before the paperboy/postman/pizzaman visits, expect to have to review your home insurance details.

It'll get ice all over it either way. It'll dry by then anyway, I washed it about an hour ago.

I got looks washing my car in the pouring rain a couple of weeks ago. I just needed to wash the thick layer of grinding dust off it.

Because if it now rains, the entire town will be covered in water and it's not going to turn into an ice rink.

Also I had to laugh at the compensation culture thing, as if people actually worry about this stuff.

One of my neighbours was cleaning his car this morning.

It was -2 degrees at the time. Loony.

I remember waxing my car in the winter last year (forgot to do it before the snow came frown ) and everyone thought I was totally insane!

I thought it best not to point out the rust on their cars because they are never washed / polished / waxed hehe

Does it really make a difference on a modern galvanised steel car? When did you last see a recent rusty car..?

It was a mk3 Mondeo, and rust on the bottom of the doors is very common. Actually come to think of it, my other 2 cars both had rusty rear arches!

Neighbours in question have Vectra B that you could probably kick a hole in.

Obviously not an issue on newer cars smile

It's fine, it's all dried up now and most of it is on the property anyway, or under the car.

It's started snowing now rofl
