Well, Had another good day yesterday! I got the chance to shoot a very rare car! My friends immaculate 1992 Renault Alpine A610.

John has always loved these and his car's first owner was williams F1 and has Nigel Mansell on the owners book!

Hi mate, the song is clare maguire ain't nobody breakage remix, part of it was used in a clio advert not to long ago so I used it as it has a Renault link

Cheap dslr slider! Lol, i really wanted to get some rolling shots but with only two of us that was quite hard! Really need aa 3rd person to drive so i could get some moving stuff.

Tim did a great job of this. He literally took an hour to get some shots and a couple of hours later had come up with the video. I was extremely impressed with what he did with no real resources. Given time and more resources, I'm sure he could do some pretty mega stuff. The biggest compliment I can pay is that I wouldn't change a thing, it is as good as I could have hoped for, and then some, he seemed to know exactly what I wanted from the shoot, without me really saying much at all.

The car is one of less than 40 left in the UK. It's a well used car on nearly 130,000 miles. Not bad for an old French sports car! Still looks pretty modern and gets plenty of positive comments when I'm out and about in it.

Love these, remember going through the airport tunnels near Manchester Airport, me in my Manta GTE hatch in red and a red one of these appears behind me, I hoof it through tthe empty tunnel but it was no good, 110 bhp plays what 200 and odd and past it went, sounded fantastic, it turned off and went down the lanes which I knew very well and I followed (was on the way to girlfriends), it is very winding and I couldnt see where it went, until I reached the top of the hill and was surprised to see headlights pointing towards me, the A610 was badly parked backwards into a field, not massively damaged but it wasnt going anywhere anytime soon without assistance. I stopped in a safe place and walked over and checked to see if the driver was ok, he looked to be as was out of the car and was trying to dial on a very early mobile, I ask him if I can help and he just told me to "f*ck off", I just went and got in my car and drove off.

So, A610, officially faster than a Manta, if you can avoid parking it in a hedge and being a grumpy bd.

I know these are Rear/Mid Engined, do they have some challenging handling traits based on the hedge incident ?

Respect it in the wet (although it is amazing in the dry). Not really any worse than many Ferrari's, Lotus's etc of the era. But yes, it can bite when the road is damp.

250bhp, rear engined, rear wheel drive.

Don't remember it being wet but the road can get a little "ploppy" due to horsey person activity, think they had been having one of their horsey events that day as had been round earlier and got caught up in the convoy of posh women badly driving 40 year old Bedford lorries powered by the horse int he back walkign on a treadamill, may have been a poop/diesel issue that caused it, would love to speak to the driver to see why he was so hostile towards me !

Strange. I certainly haven't heard or experienced any issues of them being tricky in the dry. They were always rated as one of the best cars of the 90's for handling and grip, all the more surprising given the location of the engine. I guess the owner was just a bit pissed off that he'd managed to park it in a field! lol
