When to tell Insurance company after getting points?
Discussion
Read your policy booklet, that will tell you. Either that or ring them up and check.
(I suspect some insurers will want to know at renewal, and others will want to know immediately. To be on the safe side, either check your book or tell them immediately. At least if you tell them immediately then they won't be able to use it as an excuse to get out of paying a future claim. If you have insurance to be legally compliant you might not care as much, but if you have insurance because you'll want your car mending/replacing then do yourself a favour and don't give them easy ways out!)
But check with your particular insurer.
