Quite a few times here
Mainly on old wedge transits for when the rear door rots and the seal lets the exhaust fumes in, clamp one on the tailpipe and that extends it enough to not come in and choke you

I once reversed my Classic Mini into a post and smashed the rear light. I fashioned a repair using a Jaffa Cake tub as the indicator lens


and an old rear bicycle light lens as the brake light lens.

Worked great for a whole year!
