I currently run a very healthy "bread van varient" Ep3 Civic type R.
Its worth 5k, being a last run lm spec'ish 05' model with 50k FSH.

Now as I am expecting a baby I need five doors. The car I orginally wanted when I bought the civic was RB5 scooby. But I could'nt afford the insurance... I can now, it has 4 doors, I only do 8000 miles a year due to a very short (8 miles) work commute. I can pretty much swap the cars price for price, with similar age related mileage. 60-75k and maybe even the PPP (prodrive performance pack) varient.....

Am i being stupid?

Had an RB5WR a while back now and still miss it. Fantastic machine that ticked every box and could get me plus 3 mates and 4 sets of golf clubs in the boot no problem. It will easily cope with your needs and more

If you can then you should certainly switch, you can always sell later if circumstances change
