Rough Idea On Pricing 2.0 XE RWD Box Manta Exclusive Bits

Hi guys just wondering if anyone can give me an idea on values as I'm a bit out of touch with this now.

I was a Manta nut 10yrs ago and built a Manta with a 56k 2.0 XE redtop (running std ECU) 1.8 Manta 5 speed and sump.

SDB kevlar cluch and manifold, volvo 4 pot brakes.

Exclusive twin headlights, rear bumper and interior.

I then drove it for 8k and then parked it up when I got into MX5's

The Manta now needs LOTS of welding so I think it's value is in selling the Manta parts seperately and then the engine / box / clutch / sump / manifold to a kitcar builder.

Any idea on what these things fetch as I've been offered £800 for the lot but that seems too low to me albeit saves me the time to stripping it.

I think I'd get almost that just for the XE engine / ECU / box / clutch / sump / manifold.

I'll swap you a Rover 213S that doesn't need as much welding.

I would have thought it was worth more than £800 even with the shell needing replacement or lots of welding. Mantas are rising steadily in price

I wished I'd tried that conversion on my old GTE Manta. I went with a 2.4 Stroker on the CIH engine, conventional cylinder head mods etc etc and got up to about 165bhp ( still quick though as it was only around 1040kgs ). I'd gone to a 2.2 before which was about 140ish.

Later had an Astra GTE 16v with the redtop in and would have been quite easy to achieve similar power with much less tuning.

Yes a mate used to fit 2.4 frontera engines and 2.2 Carlton engines in.

I got a fair few bits from Peter Maiden components and Steve Thompson cars back in the late 80s - I guess I went the long way round the houses to get more poke but such is hindsight.
Did over 100k in mine in 7 years - it was a great car for me

On a more serious note £800 is more then reasonable and if I had it I'd be there with a transporter and cash.
