New BMW 320d sport or C220d Sport

Conundrum. I have choice of new company car. Preferred option is new 2012 BMW 320d saloon in sport guise. Problem is it looks like optional extras available to me will be pretty minimal due to being brand spanking model therefore likes of leather, xenons, MSport suspension are unlikely and car will be relitively basic spec.

Other option is Merc C220d sport tourer. Because merc is older there's better deals available than BMW therefore I could get fully loaded merc.

Both look great but BMW write ups suggest it's superb and raises the bar vs everything else in it's class.

So - basic spec but fundementally brilliant bmw saloon vs excellent but by comparison older model, fully loaded merc tourer?

Which would you choose?

PS. 25k miles a year + have two kids. New BMW boot great but not quite as practical as tourer merc

C220cdi Sport - because it IS what I chose last year

I couldn't pay what I did and have a poverty spec interior, no matter how good it drove, so that ruled out the BMW.

Depends what you need it to do, and what roads you'll be driving on. For me the Merc excels on long motorway journeys, tall 7th gear on the auto makes for very relaxed crusing.
