I watched a great youtube video with the Nissan GT R going up against the BMW M5. The Nissan won!!!

The lateral G in the GT-R is insane. My Exige manages 1.3 G on AO-48's but to get that in a 1700kg road car is something else. I drove one for a long weekend not long after they came out and could not believe the grip levels although on the road I was not willing to push any limits. A wonderful car.

I wonder how much you would have to spend to get a car that would beat the GTR in those specific tests.

Im expecting somebody in a minute or two to come up with a kit car of some sort built for 20k but does anybody have any suggestions - must be a mainstream car like the GTR.

Unsurprising, the Germans have never really been able to match the Japanese when it comes to cars. Both fantastic cars though, supreme in their own ways.

Did I spend my youth dreaming of owning a Nissan or a Mitsubishi? Yes, actually, an R32 Skyline and a Lancer Evolution 6, thanks. Mostly I dreamed of Ford though, Cosworths and such.

£45k plus some big sticky tyres for a Z06
