Simple question.

No restrictions, it could be any make or model.

Only criteria is that it needs to have a healthy chance of appreciating over the next 5 - 10 years because you'd be buying it as an investment.

Countach is my guess? If you can get one at £100,000?

http://www.ezeweb.co.uk/lamborghini/ - This one's available but almost too cheap? Blurb doesn't suggest it's a replica from a quick scan...

Thread rules

1. Picture
2. URl if available
3. Price
4. Why?

Spyker C8,

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...

You will find one for £100,000 though I couldn't be arsed searching for one under, this one is close enough.

Rare as hen's teeth, whacky as Timmy Mallet and can shirley only go up. Collectors piece and that

You have to take in account maintance , that can easily wipe out any appreciation. Something like a few Honda nsx's ???

Anything I bought I'd end up driving (as that's what cars are for) so I doubt anything would be a decent investment for me.

$117,000 or roughly £76,000 by the time you've shipped it from the States which is 10k cheaper than the very cheapest on PH, with half the miles and fully serviced.

Reason being, I think it's the next Ferrari supercar about to become unobtanium for 99.9% of people.

Probably 2x TVR Sagaris.

They just seem to keep going up. Not sure they will go up as much in terms of % as cars like the F40.

Maybe an e30 m3 evo

Think it's too late to buy the Sag now they can't increase in value that much more surely?

I think I'd find a couple of low mileage standard Sapphire Cosworth's and wait.... Not sure what I'd buy with the rest.

Was going to say Duesenberg. Turns out I'd have to add a zero to be in the running for one hehe

Not a car, in all probability.

I think it's very unusual to make money on a car in real terms.

How much are Lancia Hyenas?

With the mechanicals of a humble Integrale, they can't cost much to maintain but are rare and reasonably exotic.

DBS 6.0l V12 manual, £89,900.

A proper looking driver's car. Might struggle to keep it as an investment though, I'd be out in it every day!

I'm going to break the rules of the thread here, but I'd buy an eighties F1 car and a dehumidified bubble to keep it in.

They will only go up in value.

I'd post a link, but I'm on PH mobile.

I would never, ever buy a car as an investment. I was speaking to an elderly friend who used to own a few rollers when he was younger and they were going for pence. He tracked one down and the last guy to buy it spent over 50 000 pounds. He spent about 50.

He said he had far more enjoyment out of those cars than the person who bought it now, because he used it as a car.

I would probably buy a car for that sort of money, and use it at the weekends and cherish it, and try to not lose to much money, but why put a car away as an investment when you could use that money to rent out a house, and let someone else enjoy the car for what it is.

2x Ferrari 550 Maranellos at £50,000 each. Why? Because in 10 years time they will be worth £150,000 each.

Simples.

Pics available everywhere.

Possibly a Lambo Gallardo Balboni (though might be a tad over-budget)...has the potential to go the way of the Challenge Stradale vs the 'cooking' 360.
