It's snowing, it's -10c, the road appears damp, the windscreen is covered in salt spray so you cant see out the windscreen, your right up behind the car in front, you have just narrowly avoided a major accident and the driver is looking out the side window pointing at the wind turbines!

How fast would you feel comfortable with?

This was me last year. I was scared doing 60, the outside lane was closed off but a porsche comes up on it anyway, closely followed by a bmw.

Minutes later there are hazard lights everywhere, and said porsche spinning across the road.

went a bit slower after that (50mph)

On the Autobahn you say? Oh about 140mph then. Well come on it is a bit damp.

160km/m!!!!!! When I admired his faith that there wouldn't be any ice, he just said "I knew there wouldn't be any ice".

Blood pressure is just about back to normal again!

Ok per hour! An s-max came past us at a best guess of about 200km/h. They are mad!

I drove in this kind of weather back to the UK in my Tuscan.
Very scary and hardly ever got over 40mph.
Took me 1 hour to get out of a hotel carpark as another 9" dropped over night.

Not that I am aware. You might have areas where there are speed limits when the road is wet, but there are always signs showing you this.

Unless my journey was some sort of emergency, if I couldn't drive at a speed I felt comfortable with, I'd either choose another route, or delay my journey.

As I've become older, I'm starting to realise life's too short.

You and me both. Got up to 130mph on Autobahn a few years back, car had another 25+mph.................I didn't, gave up when the blood stopped flowing to my fingers due to my grip on the wheel.

On a track is OK, but could not convince myself that the car I was overtaking wasn't going to pull out of I was about to see half a truck tyre in the road coming at me at nearly 200 feet per second.
