Having owned quite a few cars in my lifetime I can conclude that, so far, the car that's had the most violent, instant throttle repsone has been (believe it or not) my 205 XS, even more so that the 205 GTi I used to own.

There seems to be literally no lag between pressing the throttle and disappearing into the distance. It feels great.. just 2mm depression of the right-hand peddle and instantly, you're gone. No cushioning, no lag, no blamange.. the instant you press it, you're off. Hard.

Any other cars match this?

My MK4 Golf R32 had a very sensitive throttle, wouldn't say it was violent but it certainly didn't hang around.

I have read a lot of the 3.2 vw group cars have overly sensitive throttles, almost an on/off switch. haven't tried myself.

My Mustang runs a lot of power but is very progressive, can't really pinpoint any of my own as overly violent or sensitive. Worst tried was a diesel c3 picasso rental I had for a week in France.

e39 M5; with sport button on.

So stupidly sensitive I used it only a handful of times in 3 years!

The throttle in my MR2 Turbo is not what I could call violent, though it is supremely responsive and very sharp, which surprised me for a turbo car. It responds instantaneously to pressure, so I had to speed my downshifts up, coming from a Volvo S60 with a slow electronic throttle!

The response as it comes on turbo can be fairly violent though; the turbo is actually very progressive but keep your foot in towards the red line and it pulls and pulls and soon becomes very fast indeed!

Not violent in any way, shape or form but my Picanto has the most sensitive, overly assisted set of controls I've ever used. Especially the brakes (I was warned by 2 different salesmen about the brakes when taking test drives and still nearly put them through the windscreen hehe)

I drove a 205 1.4 GR for a while and although the throttle was reasonably responsive I don't think there's any way I could ever describle it as violent! The little engine never had me disappearing into the distance either, the extra performance of the XS must've been quite impressive!

Nope. Let's face it, nothing is going to match that kind of earth shattering performance from your Peugeot. 2mm to unleash those stallions would scare me stless. It must be a nightmare in traffic and you must have better foot control than Michael Flatley to cope with such fine margins.
