20miles the wrong way down M42!

A Pensioner has travelled 20 miles the wrong way down the M42 forcing police to bring him to a stop, Police-Camera-Action style with a T-Bone manoeuvre.

How can an existing medical condition have anything at all to do with it. Unless he was blind before the incident.
He had control of a vehicle, he obviously still knew how to drive said vehicle. And he must have had some idea where he wanted to end up.

Confusion due to a minor stroke, or dementia?

I have to say, at 1.20am, the traffic was probably light, and if he was doing 70 mph, they managed to stop him in less than 20 minutes from the initial call, after assembling a rolling road block.

Not too shabby I feel.

Later in the report it says he hit an officer on foot so I'd assume thats what its refering to rather than the police running him off the road.


20 miles though? That said if Mr Elderly had his foot to floor in his Colt then it may only have been 20 odd mins. Long time but, if they had to get enough coppers on the road, catch up etc.

The article gives the impression that he was spun out deliberately by a PITT type thingy, and then he still carried on and ran one over! He must have been very, very confused ofr that to have happened......
