  • (mods if you see fit to move this to the readers cars section then feel free but I'm guessing some contributions will come from other websites)
Now, we all love a good build thread, but there's no sticky at the top of readers cars. The only stipulations are that any car linked must be an EPIC build. That can mean a huge mechanical rebuild to massive power, a bare metal refurb to concourse condition or maybe a self build from a kit of sorts, anything you think is epic basically. Over to you............thumbup

  • putting venoms on your corsa & moving your number plates is not epic

I found this when doing some research into whether one of those small model jet engines could be used to power a turbocharger instead of using exhaust gas.

This guy actually did it, but used an APU instead.

Search on youtube for it in action as the noise is incredible.

Exactly. And the beauty is that is kinder to a tubby than running ALS and it's lighter than compound charging.

This humble 1.2 Bravo gets more than it deserves from someone who seems to only vaguely know what they're doing but it's presented with such enthusiasm and humour that you'll loose a few hours to it.

i've seen that one before, truly epic.

again, you might need to register to see the pics, but here's one local to me, considering everything has had to be flown/shipped in, deserves respect!

Mine's an epic, in terms of length rather than stature really.... An over-winter tidy-up that's turned into a 4.5 year (so far) journey of love, hate, excess and frustration.... still, after all is said and done, I'm still pretty happy with it smile

While not a massive transformation, as it looked pretty good to begin with, every nut and bolt on this car has been given love and attention. It's been rebuilt, given more power, less weight and under the skin is as close as you'll find to a new one. And every modification has been done with the intention of improving it without impacting its soul. Indeed to the layman it looks completely unmodified... which is what I was going for smile

i won't spoil it by posting to many photo's but when i said epic build threads, this is what i had in mind biggrin one man's mission to build a perfect replica of one of these:

the lengths he goes to is phenomenal, & the period factory information he gleans is just superb.

just don't expect to get anything done this afternoon smile

eta might help if i actually linked the thread:
