Cars that attract: Respect / Attention / Knobs / Nobody
Discussion
Moving on from my rant the other day about people who think they have a right to go 20mph over the speed limit in town because they want to "make progress"...
There are a lot of cars out there, some attract no attention at all, ie fiesta's, Astras, Focus'es, Peugeots... etc etc etc etc...
However my current fleet are polar opposites of each other.
The Esprit attracts only good comments, people beeping and waving, pedestrians pointing and kids love it.
My Smart attracts knobs ONLY, people who are usually driving either executive saloons (BMW 5/7 series, Audi A6, etc) who think im in the way, even though im doing the limit or just over anyway, or the other ilk, the subaru / fiesta ST / corsa VRXSZXS (whatever) who get annoyed just looking at the smart's fugly back end and get all annoyed and sweaty trying to get past for no reason.
In the past i had a classic mini, which also was only positive, despite being slower than the smart...
The TVR was, oddly, a bit of an indifferent car, supprisingly little attention until someone heard it.
SO!
What have you got? and what reaction does it get generally?

I drive a 2006 Mustang GT.
I generally get people pointing, starting, thumbs up etc. I seem to get only praise and good comments even from the barry boys (wikkid dat blud innit). I think it is because it is one of those 'blue jeans hero cars' rather than being a prestige brand.
Only negative comments I have ever had was "It’s still just a Ford" and "American cars are s
t" Other than that nothing but positive comments.

Nobody loves my Micra...Naturally, so I do for that matter
Problem is as OP said it attracts the wrong attention, on the motorway if going at the same speed as the traffic I still get some t
t in a rep mobile so close to my number I can't see his headlights. You just have to get over these things.
The 944 attracted some good attention, no bad whatsoever which is nice. I recall in North London one evening sat at the lights with the roof down some people shouted out to us 'Nice Car....Rev it!' to which we duly responded with a rev![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
Though the best reaction came in North Wales when me and dad went on a driving holiday. We had parked up in some small village and left the car, we came back with q few people giving the car a good close look over. One particular person couldn't believe it was a front engined Porsche, examining the Badge closely! A few people stood around waiting for us to start it so they could hear her, to which they all nodded and made sounds of approval :thumb up:
So what I've learn it, is if you want you car to be appreciated, show it to the Welsh![tongue out](/inc/images/tongue.gif)

EVERYBODY loves my Corvette. ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
It really puzzles me why I'm a "dick in a flash BMW" when I drive the Z3-M![confused](/inc/images/confused.gif)
Simple; Corvette = 'blue jeans hero' car to admire and look up to and the BMW = a thing that is perceived to be flash and showing off regardless of how much it cost and how old it is.![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
