Alfa GTV V6

I've been considering buying a possible future Alfa classic for a while and the GTV V6 is an absolutely stunning car seems available at what seems ridiculous bargain bucket money - is there a reason for this? Has anyone got any experiences they would care to share?

Stunning cars indeed. I had one, albeit briefly, and it was a lovely car to behold from all angles both internally and externally. The engine was phenomenal and the chassis was brilliant, if not truly polished. Not a single glitch with it either.

I much preferred the 156 2.5 I had before it. The engine is more enjoyable to use in anger, there's nothing to separate them in looks (subjective of course), and you have all the added practicality.

Was considering one myself. Running costs eventually put me off buying one.

I've been looking at these amongst other things, one of which 'other things' being the Alfa GT coupe V6.

Question I have for the thread: Is it worth spending the extra on the newer car to give an overall better package than the GTV V6 can offer?

Of course the GTV is much prettier!

Had one for 18 months, fantastic car with a great sound. A lot of car for the money as the words "3 litre", "Italian" and "Alfa" scare off those not in the know.
People couldn't believe it was a 3 grand car, and still a head turner

Only reason I got rid was I wanted a change and a first taste of Pork.

Upsides - great looks, lovely sound, stylish interior, an unusual choice compared to (say) a 3 series coupe, very cheap to buy
Downsides - insurance is quite expensive (group 19), it likes a drink and the found the alarm a bit temperamental

Sounds very positive so far - I really think the looks are sublime from every angle
